Default 81 Squeaking!

So I took her out for a ride today and I started hearing this squeaking noise! Any ideas what it could be? I am still learning so I am not sure what it could be. It does speed up with acceleration and slows down with deceleration.

Squeaking from where? Is it coming from the rear? If so, it could very likely be the rear trailing arm bearings, as this is a common problem. Another possibility is u-joints, either half shaft or drive shaft.

My internet dollars will be on alternator belt or pulley, second guess is power steering.

Yeah, I think that may be it. My car was also squeaking bad when I got it last year. Trying to narrow it down, I took the brake pads out and greased the backing plates, which helped. Power steering still squeaking after a new belt. Tried to adjust the pump to tighten the belt, to no avail. It's the next project on deck after I finish the carpet, which I'm working on now.

Sorry for the delayed response. It didn't start doing it till I was about to pull into the driveway. It sounded like it was coming from underneath the car, central or maybe towards the rear. It was more of a deep whining, whirling sound, I think squeaking was a bad way to describe the sound. But it did go faster when i accelerated and slowed when i decelerated. I thought if a u joint went bad it would be more of a clicking noise? Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks guys.
