You should have heard my Dad when he checked out the Hope Chest I built for my daughter. He could actually do great woodwork....me on the other hand.....
3/4" Birch...with 3/4" cedar lining (my daughter wanted cedar smell but not cedar look outside- all I could find was more 3/4"...so it was bad double thick!). I used dado joints, countersunk the sides into the base....used screws...lots of them, glue and wood dowels and braces!
She wanted it as big as the width of her queen size bed....so she literally ended up being able to fit inside! I told her if a hurricane came to jump in for protection!
Probably also the only Hope Chest with a hidden compartment holding a .38 S/W snubnose and a box of ammo! I made sure to let her husband know about that!

So you got new personal bests with the car, you're within striking distance of the 8s and you didn't break anything. That was a great day. Thanks for reporting back with so much detail.
BTW - I can't remember seeing a turbo car, with as much power as yours, with a manual trans. You really are blazing a new trail with that setup.
Good luck with the "mile".
