I first ran them under in the original location with all of the original heat shields. However, my new shorty headers did not sit in the same location as the manifolds and the shielding did not provided any protection. I had to move them to run over the headers.

I'm interested to hear the best way to run new wires under the exhaust manifolds? I was thinking cutting one end off at a time and taping the new wire on the end of the old one, then pulling it through from the other end. My only concern is seeing I haven't done it before, will there be enough room in the boomerang covers to pull the new wires through?

i run mine over and haven't had any problems in 10 years. Just make sure there's ample clearance btwn the wires and the headers.

You do not need to cut anything! Just loosen the bolts to the GM covers and you may have to remove one of the end bolts and you can fit the wires behind the covers and pull through the boots around the metal taps on the end of the covers like I did recently with my LTH header install. Just take your time and be patient....it can be done relatively easily and the covers are great at keeping the wires hidden and protected from the heat of the manifolds

Cool that also sounds like a good option, I'll give that a try. Gee I really wish I had a hoist. Obviously this will have to be mostly done from underneath?

I had a look at the drivers side boomerang cover today and only 2 of the 4 wires travel in the cover. Is that how it's supposed to be?

Yes that is how the wires are run on my car...the plugs/wires closet to the rear of the engine do not go through the shields on my car...the shielding is for the 2 plugs/wires towards the front of the engine and farthest from the distributor.

Got my new wires yesterday. My old wires are 7mm and my new ones are 8mm. The only problem I can see is how I get the new 8mm wires in the wire supports down at the back near the firewall. Those supports that are at the bottom of the chrome wire covers. Anyone got any advice how to run the new wires in them? Do they just open up?
