Proform 67265 Water Pump
I am looking for a rebuild-able aluminum water pump. I was going to run this on my '74 small block, will this suit my needs?

I heard once there were three types for small block, "short", "long", and "Corvette".

Stewart pumps are rebuildable and popular with some of the guys in here. I have a stage 2 pump. Quite happy with it.

Nice but triple the price. If I have problems I'll step up to a Stewart.

I have used proform carbs and they seem to work very well
no experience with the water pump

The shaft on the Corvette is larger so you do indeed need a Corvette specific pump.

Until 1971 WP shafts were 5/8" diameter after that 3/4".....I run Edelbrock pumps....they are some of the best.....wouldn't risk my driving joy on a foreign sourced product myself.
