If you have power at the starter, and nothing at the starter extension harness connector, the fusible link in the starter extension harness is toast.
Hi folks, I want to update, I towed to a mechanic I found in my area who seems reasonable...lets hope the price is too...anyway, he did more prodding than I dared to and it seems the fuse link is fried. Brand new harness down the tubes. I know you can repair but I am now debating if I want it to be nice and pretty again.
So at this point I concur, it does appear to be the Fuse Link. At least I hope. I am officially declaring this file case closed unless further complications arise!!!!
My first SOLVED thread!!!! PROGRESS!!! I LOVE YOU GUYS! I LOVE YOU AND YOU AND ESPECIALLY YOU! Yes you
Thx forum

Hi F,
The 'fusible link' is the wire between the the 2 black rubber insulators.
The wire is of a smaller size so it fails rather than have the current pass on to the electrical component it's there to protect.
You can see the 'link' wire is smaller gauge than the larger red wire it 'protects'.
Regards,
Alan
These are from a 71…. might give you some help in locating the 'links' on your car.
Here's one at the horn relay.
Here's one near the wiper motor.
Here's the one that protects the starter.
Thanks for those pics alan, mine were solid black. Car looks like a beauty, at least the wires do anyway!
Don't go spending big bucks for a new harness- A fusible link repair is not difficult and every bit as permanent as the factory harness as long as you use the correct size/type of wire and seal it from the elements.

Replace just the link, the mechanic should be able to do that easily. The NCRS might ding you for it but nobody else would.

Roger. I Appreciate that I may do both but save money til I get another harness down the road. This is why I can't have nice things lol. I'm still waiting for him to get to it...That lazy mechanic Bum! Jk...so we will see!
