Default LT-1 Carb linkage question

Hey guys - longtime member, but absent from the forum for a while! I just got a 71 LT-1, Bridgehampton Blue/black. Still has original paint, no hit (you can literally see the bonding lines), M-21, no power options. Built 03 DEC 1970. Has significant patina
Anyway, while removing the carb to troubleshoot a weird whistle at idle, i noticed that one of the carb baseplate mount tabs (the edge with the accelerator pump) was actually snapped, probably from over zealous Tq from PO or shop. They had fabbed a shim to fit over the two broken pieces and the car actually ran ok! No worries, I'll get another for now so the car will run and in the meantime source a replacement (used!) baseplate and get mine rebuilt later (Chris's carb shop???).

OK: found one on Ebay, 800 bucks, "rebuilt, ready to go, for LT-1, Camaro..." R4801-1, 3989021, etc... Looked good, i can use it for a few months.

Carb comes in and I notice that the linkage is nothing like my factor LT-1 carb. Also - the two mount screw holes for the idle solenoid are smaller in diameter and in addition, the vacuum hose next to the PCV hose fitting is Larger OD than mine?!?!

In the photo the Ebay carb is in the middle. My original carb is on the left and a spare (donor carb for a good baseplate!) is on the right. Note the weird linkage?!?! Maybe someone used a truck or other application baseplate during a rebuild???

New info line: Note that my carb has a replaced secondary fuel bowl/metering block in it's life at some point. Here's the Ebay title and item #:
Holley 4801 carburetor for lt-1 vette camaro
Item ID: 302225001447

Many thanks in advance for advice!!!

Hi M,
In looking at pictures of other 71 LT-! carburetors (NCRS 70-71 TIM&JG and Dobbins) it seems that the carbs on the left and right in your photo have the typical linkage.
The linkage on the center carb doesn't seem to be a configuration that would allow the throttle 'stud' to be installed on the linkage, and then have the throttle cable to hooked up in the normal way.
?
Regards,
Alan

Thanks - hoping that someone can ID the application for that linkage - maybe camaro??? That tall linkage might not even fit under the LT-1 air cleaner base?

the baseplate is what I have on my 3310-1, see the image in the link below. You can get it to work but not original to LT-1
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...te-0743-a.html
The original base plate was replaced by part number 112-9. For the 4801 Holley lists the base plate as N/S, not serviced.

You will notice the LT-1 carb bases have the 3/8" nipple for the PCV valve on the passenger side of the carb and the base plate of the center carb in your picture has the 3/8" PCV pipe directly in the rear of the carb. The power brake pipe routing for the Chevy hi-rise intake would make using the PCV nipple on the "aftermarket" 4150 base plate difficult if not impossible to use....I'd bring this up and ask for my $$$ back myself. Another detail....the idle stop solenoid contacts the throttle lever on the OEM carb and Im not sure the aftermarket lever will allow its use....might not be correct on that assumption.

Taking another look at that center carb.....so much wrong with it! Take a good look at the float bowl vent tubes.....the carb on the left has the angled tubes in the proper orientation.....one on the right the rear tube is 180 degrees off....hope it's still relatively tight on the main body.....Locktite 680 or epoxy will keep it in its proper place......now look at the center carb.....the float vent tubes are not cut at an angle like the OEM Chevy carbs.....with the tight clearance to the factory AC 14X3 drop base air cleaner lid.....the vents might not work properly effecting high RPM float levels and fuel curve.....the center carb has so much FAIL! In it......
