I can see there is a lot of posts on battery drain but can't find an answer to my problem.
I've disconnected everything while I'm restoring my 1980 corvette. The center console with the clock and all light bulbs are out of the car.
When I run the amp on the battery I got it down to 0.38 amp and it's steady there. When I pull the ctsy.clk fuse the amp goes to 0.00 amp. I can't see any light on, the cigarette lighter is out, clock is disconnected so am I missing something or any good ideas?
I just fixed mine the other day. Got the part from Willcox. Took 2 minutes or less to swap the boards and plug all back in and get the glove box put back together, so just buy the board and not the whole unit. I now have working interior lights when I open the doors and battery is not draining like it was. It would drain overnight for sure. Was that way since I've owned it. Whenever I would park somewhere for more than a 45-60 minutes I'd disconnect neg. cable due to fear of getting stuck somewhere. I'm 3 days in now without having to disconnect the battery and going strong. I haven't brought out the bulb tester again since to see if there's still drain but it's a night and day difference since the fix.
Also, check some of the threads on courtesy light timer issues. My symptoms were the lights not coming on when doors opened, but I could turn them on by twisting the headlight ****. Some people notice other wonky issues with the lights not shutting off when doors closed, etc.
