I'm putting some on soon. The only ones that I've seen are from Dragvette. Anyone have experience in this area and can recommend a loop for me. I broke a spindle last time I was on the track with no other damage, but it made me think about spinning half-shafts and splintered fiberglass.
I have done a search for drag vet and come up zilch. Any one have the site or telephone #. I want a set, the destruction of previous posters scares me.Thanks.
You need to disconnect the halfshafts to be able to slide the loops up to the trailing arms. Disconnect the nut from the lower shock mount to mount the bottom of the loop, and you'll need to drill 2 small holes in the bumper pad of the (stock) trailing arms for the aluminum clamp to attach to. Offset trailing arms don't have the bumper pads, so you'll need to do a bit of fabricating ;) .
Does the loop just attach to the hub? It appears that way from the pics. The reason why I ask is b/c I'd like to use them on the 1980-82 set-up which does not have the trailing arm found on earlier cars, instead it has a 4 link type setup. I was wondering ifthe loop would therefore interfere with the suspension on the later cars?? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
