I am trying to install belts on a 1980 and having difficulty tightening the smog pump belt. I have confirmed it is the correct AC Delco belt, but I don't have enough clearance from the AC compressor. The smog pump is hitting and not allowing me to put tension on the belt.
How about a pic showing it actually hitting so we can see where your adjustment point is?
Does the bolt wind up in that rust shadow on the arm or further up?
