69 stingray fuel pump how to
I need to change the fuel pump on a 69 stingray 350 SB, there's no easy way of course but is there a best way or quickest? Pull motor? inner fender/tire? Pay someone to do it?

Should be fairly simple. You can get it from underneath or leaning over the fender. The pushrod can be tricky if you haven't done one before.

Hi jtm,
Welcome !
First post!!
Access to the fuel pump from below is quite good.
It has 2 bolts that attach it to the block.
Good Luck.
Regards,
Alan

From under. BTW it's going to pour gas so clamp the rubber line 1st.
As for the rod crank the engine so the rod is in the furthest. I think having the #1 piston at TDC does the trick but check that.
Mine was simple to install at TDC.

+1 on the fuel clamp - tank is higher than the pump so it will drain the tank before it stops

You can hold the pushrod in place by putting a little cold grease on the tip that goes against the cam.

I seem to recall there's a bolt that's in line with the fuel pump push rod. Remove that bolt, install a longer bolt (don't recall what length) to hold the push rod in place.

And don't forget to use sealant on the bolt when you put it back in.

That's the way I do it. I don't like the bolt method as I'd probably forget to take it out.
