Default HELP!! Gear found under engine

I have had my '76 for about a month now, and I did a full tune-up on it last week. A few days ago, I found myself stuck at a store because (I think) my starter and my fly-wheel gears were not aligned right and it had a high pitch grind when I went to start it. Eventually, I had to push-start the car, and no issues. Today I went for a ride to see how it would go, and it went great. However, when I came back and I parked the car, I just happened to look under the car, and I found the attached gear. I do not have my ramps with me to fully look under the car right now, but from what I can see, I don't see where it could come from. Any ideas?? Thanks in advance.

Looks like it came from a bicycle. I don't recognize that as being from a Vette. Anyone else care to take a stab at it. That is not from a starter.

There was when I looked at it. It looked like a derailer gear off a bicycle.

After searching for a few hours, I found my son's bike on the other side of the house with a missing gear. Had me going for a while. I had never seen anything from a vehicle like that before. Thanks for the quick replies. Little ****!!

I believe this is the gear in the OEM clock.

I'm an avid cyclist also and recognized this right away. Changed many of these. Even my wife knew it was from a bike
