Cam Bolts?

I'm going to use a locking plate on the 3 cam bolts that go thru the timing gear. Do I need to use lock washers or start washers also?

I would think not since they would get in the way of the locking plate tabs getting on the bolt edges. I did not use any when used a locking plate during my roller cam intall.

No. This is all you need. The torque is 20 ft-lbs.

Negative.
A little medium Loctite on the threads and bending the tabs is all the insurance you need.

Thanks Guys, I'm building a new 383 for my 73 Z-28 (Corvette motor is still good-to-go!) Bought the short block from Wheller Motorsports in Jax, Fl. for about $1600. Received block yesterday and it looks real good.
