Default No turn signal but flashers work

My 69 does not have any of the turn signals working but all the flashers work. What could be wrong? flasher? or turn signal switch?

There are two flashers one is most likely out. If both are good a turn signal switch is needed.

Does the turn signal lamps light up and just not flash? If so replace your flasher. If not then there is another problem which could be the switch.

Emergency flasher is located on the fuse panel and the turn signal flasher is located on a clip behind the passenger dash panel on the door side. At least that is the way it is on a '71.

Hi d,
I agree that your problem may be caused by the flasher.
There's a small 2 pronged bracket screwed to the lower edge of the right side dash pad. It's located bout where the passenger's right knee would be.
The flasher and a radio condenser clip into that bracket.
Regards,
Alan

Some directional signal flasher covers are metal and some colored plastic.

4-Way flasher location.

I had the same issue in my 69. I had to remove the passenger side panel to get to the flasher.. Took about ten minutes. Don't forget the two screws that go into the console! Mine was a round light blue one.
Go to AZ and get a Novita LL552 flasher. It is solid state, not thermal. That is what you want.
Easy fix (if thats possible!)

Hi,
I believe you'll find that typically the dash pad doesn't need to be removed to change the flasher.
It's located at the bottom edge of the dash pad and is an easy reach with your fingers.
Regards,
Alan

thanks for the feedback. To answer some of the questions: The lights do not light up at all with the turn switch but work with the hazard switch. I believe I can also swap the flasher from hazard to turn to see if that work.

Maybe, not sure if the hazard flashers pins are the same orientation. I thought about it a little more and if the flasher is stuck open and you engaged the switch the lights for that side will not work. Just see if your local auto parts store has a flasher. They are pretty cheap and its a good quick fix if that's what it is and no tearing apart anything. I just replaced my flasher because it was really old and flashing really slow. Believe it or not I got it from rockauto. If your not into originally opt for a solid state flasher. Should last a lot longer than a thermal switch type.

Default Got it!!!

I struggled to fix the blinkers. Hazzards worked but blinkers did not. I was trying to also fix my headlight and saw the purple wire was not all the way in on the turn switch connector. Pushed it in and now blinkers are working. I love easy fixes.
