Default Doc vs Rock- and the winner is...

The rock:smash: - But not by much... I got the car checked out today and I know exactly what needs to be done. Here's the original thread about what happened:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=394270

What was hit? Well according to the fellows at the frame shop
*The frame has a dent- but no stress cracks on any of the welds. It's good.
*The drive shaft is scuffed, but not bent or dented. It's good.
*The strut rod is bent and needs replaced. So is the bracket that it mounts to the frame.
*Diff mount had the upper rubber bushing pop out. I have it, but it might need replacing as well.

I'll have to get the rear wheels aligned, but overall it's less than 3 hours worth of labor. If I get the parts, they'll do it for labor cost :). Here's a picture from rik's

It seems that I need #95 and #101... so what is the name of part #101? I don't have my catalog and I can't seem to find the exact part name on the online catalog. Any ideas? I'll order everything tonight if I can, then get it on the car. Man, it's good to know I didn't screw things up worse. at this rate I won't be able to afford kids for several more years :D

Technical name, I dunno. I'd call it the Strut Rod Mount. Bolts to teh bottom of the diff. Pretty easy to replace.

If you're not worried about originality I would replace both struts with adjustable struts from Vette Brakes and Products. They are much easier to adjust (like tie rod ends on the front) and are not as prone to rust problems. I have them on mine and they are much better than the original struts. Just a suggestion.

Thanks for the responses!! I did get the bracket at riks for $79- but it's new... last one, too. Better than having a bent one!! Now the count down begins- I have to get it to Indiana (winter storage at parent's house) before October 8th coz I've already bought the flight back... it'd be nice to have the car fully functional :yesnod:

I'm currently trying to find the rock. It's costing me plenty, I might as well bring home a souveneir :hat
