Usually it's the compressor/ TXV or the condensor. Other than that these systems are rock solid. At time of conversion the mechanic told me the sytem was fully charged with R11, that's after 25 years of abuse. Not bad!!

Mine has it, but it doesn't work just yet (one more hose and I'm done!). I've insulated, sealed and done all the tricks to hold the heat down and it is now tolerable, except in traffic. It also adds 2K to the value if you believe the price guides, although it doesn't matter to me as I will never sell... If it has it, make it work; it is a plus...

I don't think there is a answer, because it depends on how muchheat bothers you. I have heard a lot of complaints about the heat in the C5s, I drive my 98 with the top down and air off, I only turn on the air if a passenger can't handle the heat
