I drive the crap out of my C3 whenever I take it out. It has plenty of power and I use it.
Then I break it, then I fix it, and do it all over again.
Its a love/hate relationtionship, like having a crazy girlfriend who you fight with all the time and your family tells you that you should dump her but she makes up for it in certain ways that you don't want to explain to the family... and whenever you take her out she gets all of the attention in the room and people wonder how you bagged her because she is way out of your league but they don't have to deal with her ******** so they just don't know.

I abuse mine, and plan on both abusing it more AND treating it well by replacing any parts that break.
The way I see it, the car gets to fulfill it's reason for existing in the first place AND I am slowly making it a better car by destroying the weak parts -it's like automotive microevolution! Survival of the fittest parts.
Every 5 - 10 years the quality of my car should double if I treat it poorly enough. ;-)
Don't get me wrong; if I had a C3 or an early chrome bumper C3, I probably couldn't work up the nerve to abuse it; I really, REALLY love those chrome bumpers but the fact that I have a "plastic bumper" C3 that doesn't have a huge value means I won't think twice about having fun with it.

Once I used a paper towel and Windex on my dash instead of the 303 Aerospace Protectant and Sontara Aerospace Grade Wipes I usually use. F-ing crazy that day!
I drive mine like a corvette should be driven, The way Zora intended them to be driven. Driving a corvette on a road track and giving your vette a chance is to show you what they really can do, you will be impressed. T
Tires breaking loose from dumping the clutch
Tires chirping from aggressive gear grabbing
Sideways around corners
I usually hit the rev limiter at least once a day
THAT is abusing a car. Driving a Corvette in snow and salt....why? Unless its your only means of transportation....why?
Ill never understand you Canadians.
( I was going to comment on how UNSAFE it is to drive an old RWD car in the snow, but given the above description of my summer driving habits.....mmmm....maybe Ill keep my mouth shut. 8*)
I ran my 80 year round for six years, 130,000 miles, rain, snow, whatever.....One day drove to work, and it snowed after I was already there. Drove home in 6-8 inch powder....40 miles. Got stuck in my driveway.
I'm a New Englander...We don't understand "snow day", or late for work.
BTW the vette had 295/50-15 street tires and had no problem in the snow. Just have to know how to work the throttle and brakes a bit gentler.
The vette now has the 406, and doesn't get driven much anymore, except in good weather. One fine day I put the water pump through the hood. Apparently the balancer outer ring let go at 7000 rpms, and hit the pump, which then hit the hood.
