I am swapping out my Holley for my 1968 Rochester carb. The holley had a male fuel fitting so I can hook up my rubber fuel line to it. The Q Jet has a threaded female fitting. I am trying to find a threaded male connector that I can screw in to the Q jet fuel inlet so I can attach the rubber fuel hose like I did on the Holley. From what I understand it needs to be an inverted flared fitting with a 20 thread. Anyone know where I can locate the correct part for this? Tried NAPA with no success.

Hi G,
Some folks feel it's unwise to use ANY rubber fuel line between the fuel pump and carburetor.
Have you considered using one of the preformed steel lines that are readily available.
Are you using a fuel pump that's the normal configuration for your engine?
Regards,
Alan
I am using a normal fuel / stock pump. The rubber fuel line attaches from the carb connecting to the 68 fuel filter via a short metal fuel line that threads into the top of the fuel filter( the filter GM used I think only seen on 68' with the flow back tube returning to the fuel tank.) I dont have the complete original metal fuel line that connected from the carb to the threaded top on the fuel filter. Apparently this is a bit of an odd section of fuel line that I have not been able to locate. I have checked with Zip corvette etc. but the say they dont have this item. I have thought about braided lines but I dont know if a braided fuel line would thread into the carb inlet and then fit onto the fuel filter. I guess I am not really that familiar with how they attach. I have had this set up on the car for years and recently replaced all my rubber fuel lines. It does allow for quick removal when I need to work on the carb.

For some reason you can't buy just that 1 line you have to buy a complete new fuel line set.
(Or at least I couldn't find just that 1 line from filter to carb)
I did on my 68 and glad I did. Much better than rubber
Maybe I don't understand what you are asking but the flared fitting inlet on a qjet is the same as the fitting on the filter. None of the lines from the pump to carb are rubber
That flare isn't an inverted flare, it is a double flare [same as brake line] and can be duplicated with any standard flaring tool kit. Get some 3/8 tubing, most auto parts stores have those fittings [look at the rack for brake lines and there is probably 3/8 lines with the fittings you are looking for], bend and flare to make your own. Also I think Dr. Rebuild sells those lines, but on a 68 SBC the line from fuel pump goes to filter [GF42] then to the carb. The GF42 incorporates a 1/4 fitting for fuel return and is pricey, and it also deteriates quickly from todays fuel. T
