All Slip Yokes are NOT Created Equal...
The slip yoke I received has what looks like a metal 'doughnut' with a rubber o-ring seal at the base of the yoke (just forward of the u-joint). I suspect it is a truck application. Nothing like the yoke on my driveshaft. That's what I get for not asking for a picture (ebay). That was a $29.50 mistake...
Now have to go buy one; think I can get it locally for $70...
Then I tried the install this morning. Removed my slip yoke (after removing the four (4) attaching bolts that hold the driveshaft u-joint to the OEM slip yoke). Compared the two and discovered that the e-Bay slip yoke has the u-joint pressed into IT (vs. my driveshaft having the u-joint...).
So, I am back to square one. one worthless 26-spline slip-yoke with pressed in u-joint (for 27-spline trans output shaft).
Know anybody that needs one of these? I'll include picture... Live and learn I guess...
Gotta call Bow-Tie O'Drive to get their slip yoke. So much for saving $$$ :nopity I know, buyer beware...
