Default Tcs plug

does anyone know where I can get the tcs solenoid plug and wires. I am assuming that it was cut off my harness. I am trying to put the smog set up back on. Or should i just buy the engine harness from lectric limited - I don't want to buy the whole harness for just that plug. FYI this is for a 1971 lt-1

Hi jrs,
The 71 system is known as a CEC system. Combined Emission Control.
Which connecter are you looking for…
the connector for the solenoid on the carburetor?
the connectors for the 2 control relays on the firewall?
You might find someone with an old engine harness that would sell you the one you need.
The connector for the solenoid has quite a long lead wire so you'll need that too if yours has been cut back at the point the wires exit the harness.
Regards,
Alan

Thanks for the clarification Alan - I need the connector from the carb solenoid to the main harness. Also, where does the green wire terminate that connects to the temp sensor in the head

Hi jrs,
The temperature sensor in the right side head sends a signal that is part of the solenoid control.
If the engine temperature is below 82 degrees the circuit to the solenoid is completed and the carburetor mounted solenoid is activated.
Above 82 degrees the circuit is broken and the solenoid deactivated. ( gear selection also enters into when the solenoid is activated).
The delay time relay on the firewall works in tandem with the temperature switch in controlling the solenoid.
I believe the extra length of the green wire is because it's a 'resistance' wire.
The wire 'terminates' at a connection with the wire running from the ignition to the time delay relay. The connection is in the wrapped engine harness.
Regards,
Alan
