For the last 6 years I have owned a 1969 L46 coupe. When I purchased the car the original 3927184 intake manifold was gone. An aftermarket aluminum intake is currently on the engine. My car is an early 69 built in October 68. The engine block is a Sept. 68. I have found the correct intake cast number and date code nearly identical to my block. However these intakes from my understanding all should have had a round boss on the front end where the previous oil fill tubes were located on the 327 intakes of the earlier years. The intake I have located does not have the round boss. My question is without the boss could this be a marine application, or truck, or something other than what would have gone on the Corvette? Or did some of the manifolds not have the round boss? Any of you 1969 L46 guys out there with this manifold have original cars without the boss?
