Air Cleaner
I have a low profile edelbrock air cleaner with a 3 inch filter , tried the 2 in inch but the top closes the choke . What is the difference in height between this filter and the stock one that came with the car. Trying to figure how high I can go with a new intake . I put a 1 1/4 inch plastic cup with a 3/4 inch thick roll of tape ( 2 inch total )on top of the air cleaner and closed the hood didn't seem to crush the thin plastic cup . The torker 2 intake I have on there is 4.05 high the rpm air gap I want to try is 4.73 high . Was also looking at a Weiand but it was 5.73 inches high.

cut a piece of cardboard and made a ring 1 1/2 inch high and 13 inch diameter . closed hood and it collapsed the front . Cut it down to 1 1/4 and didn't show any contact . So I am guessing the rpm air gap at 4.73 should be ok .

This is my old setup:
Edelbrock 7104 Performer RPM Q-Jet (same height as all RPM and RPM Airgaps)
Quadrajet
Moroso Low Profile Racing Aircleaner with drop base and 3" filter.
I did have to dimple the base for the accelerator pump arm, throttle arm (driver's side) and secondary choke pull off (passenger side). I also used a Sharpie to mark the base and throttle cable bracket so that the base is always aligned when I tighten the nut.
3/4" clearance with stock 1975 hood.
