Hi v,
Welcome!
First Post!
The underbody reinforcement for the rear body mount is available from from various large parts vendors; ZIP Products, Corvette Central, and Paragon Reproductions for instance.
Be aware that replacing it is quite a bit of work.
Regards,
Alan
Look at Paragon #2173/74 or 14835/36 depending on the year of your car.
I'm sorry Alan 71 I said the number 8 bushing I meant the the just forward of that one, I think it is the number 7. Thanks for the real clear picture of the number 8, I also need to replace the 4 on the other side.
Hi v,
The numbering is a little confusing.
Although the AIM numbers them 1-8 many folks refer to them as 1-4 and left side or right side.
Since you're referring to what I would call the number 3 (R or L) mount you're likely in for some work.
We're talking about the one you gain access to by removing the small panel in the front of the rear wheel well; right?
I take it the body is on the frame?
Any chance of a photo of what you're seeing? Is it it the bottom of the 'lock pillar' that's rusted?
Regards,
Alan
I can't seem to get my phone to transfer the pics to the computer. The problem with bushing seems to be someone in the past had a problem and tore out the inner fender well on the r/rear side, they put a piece of rubber against it and undercoated it. It apparently let water leak in and rotted the bird cage at the base of the bushing, but I think I can weld in a new piece as it is only half rotted. If i can get pics on here I will post them. Thanks again for your response and the help
Hi v,
You might want to contact Caledonia Classic Corvette in Belding, Michigan. (no website).
They reproduce many frame and sheet metal parts and may have a repair section that will help you.
Good Luck! It's a tough area to work in!

Alan
