Can't get my vette started!
I un-knowingly drove my 81' 150 yards with only 3 spark-plug wires attached. I had been drinking and a friend thought he was doing me a favor trying to keep me from driving. So I believe the engine is flooded with gas. It's been sitting for a week and I still can't get it to start back up. Anyone with any ideas how to get my cars started again please help me out.

Any engine needs three things (while four really), air, fuel, spark & compression. Since someone was under the hole playing with wires, I would investigate the spark side of things. Double check the wires, replace the plugs (the disconnected ones may be fouled). Also check the compression when you are turning to turn over the motor.
If that doesn't work, then try a hang-over pill :lol: :cheers:

Thanx... I'll definately check the plugs lord knows what kind of things they've been through.

After trying to run it with wires disconnected its possible that the ignition module could have been damaged. A failing module will usually result in no spark at all.

Stupid question, but you got 'em hooked back up in the right order, right? I've done that before. Dosen't work real well when it fires on the intake stroke! :conehead

Yup checked and double checked... still no go. Something I did notice but is unrelated I think is that the wires on my distributor are setup in the order of a non HEI set-up and I've got HEI. Strange if you ask me.
