ring gear mis-stamp?

ring gear mis-stamp?
Possibly buying a rear diff and had a few questions. It's iron case but out of an unknown year. Seller has texted a couple pictures, ring gear is a Dana stamp and looks like 1973 for date. 1 7 73 Dana 34840 A3D34X 41-10. Question-I thought 41-10 checked out to a 4.10 ratio but owner said actual ring tooth count is 37. So has anyone came across a similar mis-stamp? I'm planning to make the trip and look it over in person. Any things I should look for specifically?

Thanks for the info ! This wasn't a mis-stamp just a straight misrepresentation. Pictures sent had good looking teeth and I could make out the stamping listed above. Well back cover removed and bright as day was the GM stamping for a 3.36, 11 pinion and 37 ring teeth out of a 1976. Oh and two chipped teeth that weren't mentioned, that was a couple hours after work wasted. Might have low balled just for the case and posi carrier but the whole no explanation on different stamps put me off. Cr....List
