I was attempting to power my timing light at the alternator hot wire (under the rubber boot) and accidently shorted it by simultaneously hitting the ground. Where can I repair this short. All was fine until that point!
Hi VS,
Welcome!
First Post!!
Electrical 'sparks'!!!
The electrical system is protected by several 'fusible links'.
If problem is on a 71 you might begin by checking for signs that the link near the horn relay has been burned. It protects part of the harness.
Look for it on the left side of the engine compartment, on the apron.
Regards,
Alan
And here's the fusible link at the starter that C69 mentions. It's part of the engine harness.
