Okay here's the deal. I have been working on this wiper system since I had someone replace the actuator. Long story short, through reading posts and AIM, I got everything working perfectly (actuator was bad and the safety switch was bad). The problem now is the post that the driver's side arm mounts on is clocked wrong. Looking straight down on it, the key is at about 8 o'clock and the keyway on the arm is at about 12 o'clock. Is there an adjustment for that, like in the middle near the wiper motor? I have no idea why it is not in the correct orientation....Thanks.
Is it possible to rotate the left (drivers") side shaft by flipping the drive arm to the other side? Just asking, I don't have access to my copy of the AIM or the FSM..If the lever off the bottom of the shaft is pointing up, make it point down. Would that bring the key to the correct spot?

The last picture Alan posted shows the arm pointing about 5:30 if you're looking straight at it. If that arm was 180* from there, would it put the keyway in the proper spot?
Alan, yeah there isn't near enough movement there to line things up. I'm gonna look at those arms again, make sure. Cause they came off there, they gotta fit. I used to have a leak in that cowling and had a guy seal it, I don't think he removed the wiper wotks, so every thing should still be the same...
I am so hosed, I just don't see any what I am gonna get around this, except maybe grind the key off. But that's just not right. Look at it tomorrow I guess, maybe something will make itself known.
Tim, here is a pic of my post taken facing toward windshield. If my post was orientated like Alan's, it would work. I just cannot figure out how this got turned or misaligned. You'd think there was an easy way to adjust it....
the black arrow shows where the key is; the white is an approximate point where it should be to work correctly.
IT looks like the drive rod needs to be on the other side of the shaft. If you disconnect the rod from the motor end, can you move it so the lever on the shaft is on the bottom? Basically the shaft 180* from where it is now..
Looking at Alan's last picture, it appears the key on the shaft is pointing inboard and the lever on the shaft is toward the bottom..
Hi,
Here's a photo showing the whole left side wiper transmission.
I agree that your transmission tab appears to be off by almost 180 degrees.
Yours is pointing 'rearward' while it should be pointing 'foreward'.
Regards,
Alan

Looking at Alan's and Kansas pictures, it looks to me the lever on Alans is at 5 o'clock and on Kansas pointing towards 1 o'clock. In other words the rod connecting the motor to the rod is on top rather than on the bottom of the wiper pivot. Unhook the rod from the motor and rotate so the rod is on the bottom and reconnect????.
Moving the rod was exactly what was needed. The one who did the sealing in that cowling area put it back together wrong. That person made a lot of other mistakes, very disappoint in him. But at least he did fix that annoying leak.
