Default is there any good quality Waterpumps to -69

I bought last summer Delco (made in china) waterpump and is seems that bearing is worn again perhaps because there is little pulley wobling and high Rpms fan hits to cowl.

Is there waterpump that i buy and it will be quality part this time.

Sbc 350/300

(Sorry for my bad english writing skills....)

A few years ago, I bought a Stewart pump. I finally installed it on my recent motor swap. A couple of days ago, it was 90 degrees here on LI. My 454 never even got close to 200.

I don't think I will ever buy anything other than a Stewart for a performance car again.

Nice piece. I did have to modify a smog pump bracket on the 81, but not too bad.

You do need to change the stat at the same time.

I have the exact same engine. You need an EMP/Stewart #12103 waterpump! About $90. I bought on Big Block Dave's recommendation. Fit and finish excellent. Runs smooth as glass.

Or go to a Stewart Components 22103, Stage 2 Water Pump (aluminum) for the small block Chevy for about $150
http://www.jegs.com/i/Stewart-Compon...22103/10002/-1

Outstanding components that do exactly as advertised.

Good luck... GUSTO

I looked stewart from ebay... one seller says:

Note: If using a mechanical fan, we suggest using a 3/4" shaft water pump.

any idea what this means...

and what Stage 2 brings? If it only aluminium vs iron.Iron works for me, i don't need High flow race pumps.

they make different size pilots, where the clutch attaches, you have to stay with the one designed for your car unless you want to start replacing other parts also. There is nothing wrong with a 5/8 pilot.

Default Flowkooler water pump from summit

That I bought 14 years ago has been wonderful and trouble-free.

After going through several stock water pumps (bearing failure), I bought a Stewart pump. 3/4" shaft (Large Bearing), with 5/8" pilot, so the pulley & fan fit.

That was over 20 years ago, you may pay a little more for a Stewart pump, however it should be the last pump you'll need to buy.

Stewart Stage 2 aluminum pump used here also.

I like the looks of the aluminum pump too.

So...My understanding is that Chevrolet made 3 different SBC water pumps.

Long. We don't need to worry about those
Short.
Short Corvette.

Apparently there's a shaft difference between the 'short' and 'Corvette Short' water pumps. There may also be a slight depth difference as well.

I just ordered a Stewart Stage 2 with matching thermostat for my '70. Not installed yet but I'm also converting an electric fan.

There are 2 different "Corvette" "Short" water pumps.
- 1970 and before had 5/8 shaft (small bearings) and 5/8" pilot (Where the fan clutch/pulley connects)

- 1971 onward was a 3/4" shaft (Large Bearings) and 3/4" pilot and larger bolt pattern on the pump flange.

Stewart offers a 3/4" shaft (Large Bearing) with 5/8" pilot and dual bolt pattern so this pump can be used on 1970 and prior Corvettes.

Does anyone know stewart number for this:
