Default Front shocks - different size upper bushings

Got a new set of Delco front shocks for my 69 - there is a small and large rubber bushing for the top mount. Which one goes on top? Or does it not matter? The old ones were the same top & bottom

The larger diameter one goes on the bottom. The smaller one with the round centering ring goes on the top.

Hi,
I believe the 69 AIM indicates that the large washer is installed on top and the smaller washer is installed underneath between the shock absorber's body and the frame pocket.
Regards,
Alan

Hi DR,
Yes, the 'ring/lip' is required to keep the shock absorber shaft centered in the hole in the frame it passes through as you mentioned
