Wanting to install FiTech injection. Could I feed an external FI pump with the existing mechanical pump? This is on 1980 350.

I would not...something about supplying an electric pump with a mechanical pump just makes my head spin.

On my '72 I put the pump in the back on a frame rail.....gravity fed though the filter from the tank pickup.....I used the stock lines to/from the front.....

I dunno about on your tank, some changes in there.....

82 had fuel injection and has the same tank as the 80, so getting an 82 sender and in tank pump may be the answer, or the 82 sender with another in-tank pump.

Yes. You could use the FiTech Command Center (aux fuel sump) or an Edelbrock EFI Sump Fuel Kit.

Many people that have used the Fitech FCC have had problems. Not the best choice

This makes it easy. Use a Holley HydraMat if you're concerned about starving the pickup. They make one that installs directly onto the base of a typical in tank pump.
