Power Steering pump
73 small block. I replaced the factory PS with a Borgeson unit. Works great, except at idle speed get a lot of belt squeal. Belt is in good condition, sprayed it with belt dressing, no change. Noticed that the PS pump pulley is not parallel with the other pulleys. Outside edge is forward of the inside edge. Looking at the AIM and Service Manual, it looks like there is supposed to be a bracket attached near the exhaust manifold to hold the outside of the mount to help keep the pulley parallel. Looking with a mirror, it looks like mine is missing. Will get the alternator out of the way and investigate further tomorrow. Are these brackets hard to find? Are there any DIY work arounds that work just as well. Thanks as always.

The car has an 82 crate motor originally from a truck. Looks like they changed how the PS pump is mounted. Upon further investigation, it appears the PO Bubba bent the PS mount so it didn't interfere with the Alt belt, because he was too cheap to buy a new belt. Straightened the mount, got a new belt and everything fits. Thunderstorms rolled in, so didn't get a test drive. Hopefully all is fixed.
