Default I used Brakekleen...

When I did conversions on a couple of cars. I got that from some A/C board that I used to follow a lot. Worked great for me. Readily available and you can spray it in and then blow out with compressed air. Of course, you will then evacuate so the moisture from the compressed air should be removed.

When I converted from R12 to R-134 I flushed out my old evaporator using mineral spirits. Got that advice from autoacforum.com, which is hosted by Arizona Mobile Air.

Seemed to work fine. You would not believe the amount of black flakes that came out. Was like a plaque on the inside of the evap and condenser.

Good Luck
