Hey Wheres Gainey?
sorry i couldnt resist...
it was a funny thing, i checked last night to see how the project was coming along, before i even noticed this thread. i almost crapped my pants when i noticed "Series 32". i checked out the pics (thank god i finally got cable internet at home ) and sat in awe. (the hood came out great. wonderful edge work!)
with merlin finished, im temped to rip the 4L60E out of my blazer and toss it in the vette so i can cruise on up and check it out... :smash:
do you still plan on taking it to cruise in IV?
and do you still plan on making a Merlin 2?
im not gonna tell you she looks amazing, because its you car, you already know that! but i know now how there is pretty much no way to have kept those pullies under the hood and still had the car look right. the hood came out great, but alas, its no sleeper...
congrats on getting the car done, and considering what it is, getting it done fast. also congrats on getting it done with all the adversity and general :bs youve gone through. now... we need VIDEO!! Burnouts please. lets see if you can to a 6th gear roast...
:seeya
PS The seats look great, i may ditch my C4 seats for those, how much did they run you? and were they a direct bolt in? Thanks Steve and once again congratulations on getting Merlin1 done!
I forgot to mention.... The 1 and only thing Merlin needs are some billet grilles. i was looking at the pics and with all that polished/ billet sticking out of the hood, billet grilles would go great. i am going to make some for mine, i could see if i could do a set for yours however it will be hard without having the actual car in my garage to do it. it would be  if you did the 2 large factoy grilles in billet and also did the 3 smaller grilles on the front lip. whaddaya think? it would be less that $30 to do both of our cars, so its not expensive at all.
OUT Frigging STANDING...  Are you taking it to Cape Kennedy for it's maiden launch?? Congrats on a job ...a dream... well done.
A commercial for the NHRA shows a dragster on a launch pad.. the gantry falls away as it ignites and launches straight up. SHOULD HAVE BEEN MERLIN!!!!!!!
