Lifter noise after hand turning
So I spent the last day or so installing an MSD timing tape and checking for TDC with a stop tool. Needless to say I was turning the engine with a breaker bar (plugs out) a number of times to get this done.
When I went to start it, it had the most God awful lifter noise I've ever heard. After a few minutes all the noise is gone...car is fine. Started it a few times after this and its fine.
My question is....does oil leave the lifters when the engine is turned by hand?

some or all ? of your lifters are leaking down when rotating by hand.
