Engine swap in a C3 1974
I have been offered to buy a C3 1974 and the original engine in the car has had a complete breakdown so now the seller is installing a older engine in the car...this engine has only got about 6000 miles after a complete restoration. Horsepower is about 300.I guess this 1974 car won´t be rocket fast with that engine or what?
But then again I guess with a bit of luck that engine should run for many more miles/years without trouble?

The 350 cubic inch, 300 horsepower, engine was the standard engine for the 69 and 70 model years in Corvettes.
While certainly not like the higher horsepower small block engines offered as options for those years, they were very nice engines. They typically had a bit better performance in the quarter mile than what you list.
So, no, the car won't be a rocket.
How the engine will run, and how dependable it will be, is completely dependent on the parts used to "restore" (rebuild) it, and the skill of the person/shop that rebuilt it.
Is that information available to you?

Alan

If I understood right the engine was rebuilt in Florida by a company called Amer Trading Inc in Okeechobee, FL.
Is this a well known company with a good reputation?

I'm not familiar with the company.
Their web site describes them as a car dealer and SALVAGE YARD.
This alone would make me be extra cautious about this car.
I'd want to have someone very knowledgable take a detailed look at it so you'll be aware of what the car is that you're considering.
It could be a fine car, but I'd be very thorough in checking it out.
