I don't think you can make them less noisy.

Maybe someone else has a different answer but with Allens I don't think there's any way due to the design.

Not sure if an H-pipe is possible with side pipes but they're supposed to drop the noise by 2 DB. Beyond that take the door panels off and do a layer of anti-vibration hushmat/ dynamat type stuff and then a 2nd layer of a different type of sound deadening.

That's all I've got.

Don't know which pipes you have- or whether or not you are running headers-

Some baffles from "STS" might help you out.

The have then in several diameters and lengths.

Another option-

look for a small resonator and install it before the sidepipes- I did this on my C2 and it made a big difference.

Just get undercar exhaust, no sidepipe on the planet is going to be "quiet". Its too close to the ear period.

My H pipe definitely quieted my undercar exhaust, and if the OP is determined to have sidepipes the H pipe will help knock down the major noise pulses from the 8/4 and 5/7 cylinder sequences.

The factory chambered exhaust on the C2 is remarkably quieter than my 2-1/2" Allen's C3 pipes. If I am not mistaken, Allen's makes those also and you could just replace the muffler sections. Under the factory covers, nobody could tell.

When I bought my car, the PO had installed a crossover and glass paks. Sounded like crap.

Why do you want "quiet" side-pipes???

You might be able to install some 'chambered' exhaust pipes in them.

That means I have to cut them open and then weld them shut again it will not look good and they ARE very noisy and have a certain frequence at 1000-1500 RPM that upsets the stomach so I guess I will go double pipe under car. To bad I cant download a video here then you could hear it.

If you want to rid them of a specific resonant frequency, that's an entirely different issue than "making them quieter".

That resonance is just at a certain level/RPM but they are still to noisy so it is not just the frequency that is the problem. The biggest problem is the noise since it is there no matter what RPM the engine is running.

[QUOTE=Kid Vette;1595077994]Check this out.

Looks nice but I decided to go with the original layout but it will involve a lot of money so for the moment I leave it as it is. It needs new headers new exhaust & hangers and someone throw away the rockers under the doors so I need to get all these first. And also the way they have put in the pipes the groundclearance is very bad. As you can see they connect the pipes to the headers with a 3" tube in S shape.

AND it's likely 'hotter than he11" in the cockpit, due to those big pipes running under the floorboard without any insulator between!

If you have room, your best option [at present] would be to put some resonators in the down-tubes from your headers.
