Default Weld Pro Stars

Well I wanna get going with some new wheels for my '79 Vette. :yesnod:
I've decided on the Weld Pro Stars. I'm planning on about a 15" X 5" for the front end and 15" X 8" for the rear. I'd like to stay with stock backspacing on the rear (to avoid problems). Has any C3 owners made a move like this. Also does anyone know the easiest and most economical place to buy these wheels.
Please note that I live in eastern Canada and not much is easy to buy near here. Thanks for any assistance you can provide. :seeya

I don't think that those rims will clear the calipers without excessive spacing...

I run centerline drag lites . They are 15 x 8.5 and I don't have any problems with hitting the calipers. I run 265-50-15's on the front and 305's on the back. The 305's on the back are another problem but not the calipers.

The Drag Lites will fit but not the WELD Pro-Star rims which are completely different..

Oliver has it right. Even with the same backspacing as your original wheels, the Prostars would require some huge spaces and extra-extra long studs. The problem with them, and most other wheels, is our calipers stick out so far past the hub and the spokes have to be farther out or curved enough to clear them.

So, can anyone recommend some other nice wheels that would be easier to attach to my Vette. I'd really like to not use any spacers as I do sometimes like to run the 1/4's , and from my knowledge they never make it past a tech inspection, or do they? Anyway, if you have some nice wheels to show me, please, don't be shy. I'm about 18 hours east of the end of the world so you never have to worry about my car being parked next to yours, if I happen to buy the same wheels. Guess I'm just bored of the stock wheels. Thanks. :seeya

I think that the Center Line Auto Drag Wheels are pretty cool rims..
Another very popular wheel that should fit is the Torq Thrust II.

I've also seen Eagle Alloys Series 28, 52, 55 and 58 on C3 Vettes and they look good. (American Racing sells similar - or almost identical - rims to the Eagle Alloys)

So the Cragar Superlite II is another wheel that has caught my eye. Is this a wheel that I could easily mount on my '79 Vette. Thanks.

This one won't fit eiter... :( :( :( There's no way this rim would clear the caliper...
