T-Tops are at the shop getting painted.
According to their chart my color code is GM29
On the Corvette info I have , Dark Blue Metallic is GM28
When they pulled up GM 28 in their computer , it said that GM28
is for GM trucks....not cars
therefore , I am confused...
I told them to paint GM 29 because thats what their computer said.....now Im wondering if I should do 28 because that is what the GM packet of info I have says....the 28 and 29 are VERY VERY close.
Leave it up to the shop to determine which color to use, they are the professional and you are paying them. Take you vette back and let them match it to the car's color. If they choose the wrong one, then they will have to repaint them. If you dictate which one then they are off the hook. JMHO
we held up the swatches next to the tops and they were so close we couldnt really tell. It looked a little more like the 28, but I dont know if I was biased because of the info I already knew,... it was so hard to tell.
Their computer said 29.....
Maybe since they are so close it wont matter which one they use....
I just called them -
Im gonna let the paint guy look at both swatches next to the t tops and make a decision as to which is best.
He may see something we arent seeing.
Like i said before, they are so close , it may not matter
Your trim tag says 28. I'd go 28, but the paint may be faded enough to
warrant the shop to use their best judgement.
:seeya
Is 29 slightly lighter than 28? If so, then there's a high possibility that your paint has faded over time such that it takes a lighter shade to match it now.
