.....Remember that door spring tool you bought and thought it only had one purpose? Curves right around steering column to get the pin back in to the brake pedal.
In a pinch, it will compress valve springs, too.......
I have done the trailing arms, the brake booster ,and been under the dash for several things. But trying to clean the inside back window on a 82 just sucks.

That's when you send the little people in. Wives and kids come to mind.

Taking short cuts when doing major repairs. More often than not, it will take longer, break something, frustration and bruised/cut hands.
Example taking the long way replacing the brake booster on my '76. I removed the steering column and dash. Not difficult to do and took about 45 minutes. Replacing the booster from there on was a piece of cake because you can see everything that your doing because it's all easily accessible.
Tightening the clutch fork ball stud. I had an adjustable one and the locking nut backed off. It was a ten second fix to re-tighten after the transmission was removed!!!
Funny. I always tell the wife "I wonder what I'll break today?" when I start wrenching.
Brittle, old 40 year old parts do it all the time, just like plumbing.
Are you referring to your parts or the parts on the car?
It seems like I can't work on mine without it drawing blood.
I would say that the hardest thing to do on my C3 is to stop spending money.

You know you've made too many trips and spent too many hours under the dash when you have a special bucket of tools you set on its side on the center console so you can find a tool that will do the job and fit between your face and the steering column.
Replace the rear differential cover. I have seen it in my future already, one of the broken mounts is next to me on my desk.
I have had the same issue , replaced the diff rear cover , was able to do it without taking the diff out ,just lowered it down enough to get the job done
I bought mine because I always wanted a corvette. I had no intention of selling it and never will. It will be left to my son when I die, hopefully he will keep it for his son. Have never cared what I spent on it, never will.
