Many guys buy a car for say $10,000. They put $5000 into it and think it's a $15,000 car, well no it's still worth 10grand maybe a little more or a little less depending on how fast you want to sell.
I think the hardest thing for me to do with my C3 is leave well enough alone. For example, my original stock interior was in pretty good shape, but I had to change it.

ME 2, in '95 I bought an old show car, '72 vert, stock as a stove mechanically ~130k miles on it....so it got about 6k miles/year of street use....metal solid, so good to go.....
NOW there is nothing stock, wheels through roof, stem to stern...NOTHING,......
removing parts without breaking others in the process???

Brittle, old 40 year old parts do it all the time, just like plumbing.
