Default What is this firewall hole for?

I've searched but have failed...

I can tell something used to be in the designated #1 spot, but I can't tell what. I am correct in routing the three wiper arm vacuum shutoff hoses through hole #2?

Thank you for your help.

Hole number 1 usually has a plug in it and is used to open the right side hood release if the cable ever breaks. It can be accessed by removing the wiper grill. You pop the plug out and insert your favorite tool to pop the release. Hole number 2 is for the 3 vacuum hoses as you described and should have a 3 hole grommet in it that the hoses go through.

Hole One is where the three wiper vacuum hoses route (one is just an open hose). Two is the vacuum supply to the HVAC system. Pretty sure, but someone may have more accurate information.

I have hole #1, It has a soft plug in it. Just based on the location, I'm thinking it's a hood release access.

Hole #2 are the three hoses that go to the wiper control valve that the passenger side wiper blade rests against. The hole above it is for a windshield washer hose.

Thanks guys! That is perfect. I just saw that some vendors sell the plug as the "Hood Cable Release Firewall Plug" I have been searching for this info for a while. Thank you again.
