Default Stahl Or Equivalent Headers For Sidepipes?

I'm curious to see who all is running the style of headers that collects before exiting the side of the car. Just wondering because I really like that style over the Hooker/Doug's style that collects on the outside. Pics if you got'em (Search yields threads with broken links)? Also did you have them on a streetcar, and did you have any ride height clearance issues?

I have Stahl headers by ACP. 1-3/4" primaries, 3" outlet, no ground clearance issues except maybe over large speed bumps which I don't often encounter.

Here are a few pics with the longer mufflers installed before they were painted.

I ran Stahl's years ago. No issues at all, but I went back to factory sidepipes. If you decide on Stahl's, contact Kerry at ACP Composites. I do not know if they fit cars with air conditioning or not. The Stahl's make more power than the Hooker and Kustom style side exits, so I was told by Jere Stahl. Also somebody by the name of drl88 used to sell side exits that look like what the Sunray/ DX cars used. The last set of drl88's headers I saw were priced at $4800 including tailpipes. No, not a misprint, $4800. I think Kevin MacKay at Corvette restorers sells them, or at least a period correct version. Here is a picture of them

I owned a 68 L-88 roadster years ago and it had the Stahl headers on it they were expensive even back in the 70's. I Knew Jere through friends the guy was a genius in the way he designed these pipes. I agree if you have the coin they are the ones to have.

Whelp, y'all convinced me, and now I got a set on the way from one of the members here. 1 3/4" primaries with 3.5" outlet!

This is definitely the look I'm hoping to do with my C3. Awesome!

Had a set of Stahls on my 74. 1 3/4 pipes with 3 1/2 collectors. Pipes were the biggest you could run before requiring the adapter plates. Had issues with the primary pipes cracking. Since I raced (drag and autocross) it, there may have been 'harmonics' issues. But they made more power than Hooker or Hedmans did.

*** Well, don't know what happened to pics. :-( If you want to see them, pm me. Sorry.
