Best battery jumper ever..
My son in law came to my rescue yesterday when my 67s battery died. Instead of bringing jumper cables be brought this tiny thing. I laughed at him when he hooked it up. Wow, this little thing is amazing. You charge it from any USB device or even from your cig lighter. It took several tries to get my car going and it just kept cranking. I now own one and will take it on all my trips out. I highly recommend it.
Great thing is, it's only $100..

How much does it weigh? Just curious if that thing might be a possible battery replacement candidate for those of us who are looking for additional weight reduction options.

2-3 lbs i'd guess
Directions say that dead battery needs +/_ 2 amps left in it but that can be over ridden for completely dead battery.

I've owned one like that for over a year now. Haven't had to use it yet, but I saw one being used, and had to get one too (similar to your story). Mine is a DBPower 18000 ma unit, and only costs $70 on Amazon. The nice thing is that you can charge your phone with it too. They make bigger ones that will jump a v10 diesel with no problem...
Not sure how it would work as a battery replacement for weight savings though...

The LiB battery boosters tend to catch on fire when left connected to the battery in a running vehicle, so my guess would be not so good as the main battery.

Thanks. Got caught one time in a development Corvette on the proving grounds that caught fire. Not terribly interested in repeating that experience in my own car.

If you could somehow incorporate that temp sensor and charge algorithm from a 12v cordless drill charge base it might work but that seems like a lot of work vs something like a lightweight Braille battery ready to go.

Brad,
This one is the same way. You can charge anything with a mini USB and it's got a flashlight too haha..
This one will jump my 40' diesel pusher. Amazing..Guess we just can't leave them hooked up for very long due to risk of fire.
