I have a TH200-4R trans with the ID of
249-861CAF0876
Does anybody know what this came out of as I bought it from a guy on Craigslist. I can't find any reference to the CAF code any where!

I have a 200R4/ 200-4R in my 79 as well. Are you looking to match the code so you can shop for rebuild parts? The code on your valve body can be seen when you drop the pan and will be more important. Where is that code found that you posted? On the external housing?

sure thats not CZF, i have a CQF in my 79. heres a chart of 200-4r tans. probably a pontiac trans. they had a CA trans. F is for 200-4R..
