Which cap for '69 expansion-tank?
I'm looking for a new cap for the expansion-tank for my '69 L68 (Harrison-type).
I found out, that after a ride on hot weather, water spills out from the expansion-tank, although it is filled correctly. So maybe, the valve in the cap opens to early. The NCRS-judging-manual states 15 lbs pressure for the original cap. Maybe I should use a higher pressure-type?
What do you suggest?

Here's the cap information from the DeWitts site.
"Pressurizing the system raises the boiling point of the coolant 3 degrees for every one pound of pressure. This does not have anything to do with how your cooling system will perform. It only sets the point at which your coolant will boil. A coolant mixture of 50/50 has a boiling point of 238 degrees. Pressurizing the system 15 psi will change that point to 283 degrees but it will not change the coolant running temperature. Pressure caps are available with ratings of 7-20 psi and any cap in that range would work. We recommend something in the 13-15 psi range."

Alan

Has anyone here had the same problem as me - and has solved it with another cap?

P.S.: The expansion-tank is filled between 1/2 and 2/3 when cold. After spilling when hot (and cooled down again) it is filled less than 1/2.
