You would be surprised at the amount of Summit, Jegs & Amazon products for sale on eBay w/ free shpg.
Inconspicuous address locations and non-logo labeled boxes.

Not surprised at all actually I have bought many things on ebay from them by pure coincidence and your totally right since I usually go for the free shipping.
Augiedoggy, Thanks for this information. I ordered one of these aluminum ones on Ebay last night. I rebuilt all 4 calipers with the O ring kits and a new master cylinder, but couldn't get a pedal. After talking to a GM tech, he told me about the proportioning valve. Before I did the rebuild, I had a failure at the right rear caliper, and that most likely caused the piston inside to shift out of position. After I removed the switch from the prop. valve I could see that the piston was not centered, and that's where I found your post and ordered the tool. When the tool arrives, I'll have to center the valve and then insert it before I bleed all 4 corners. Luckily, the GM tech shared with me the procedure for centering the piston once it's been pushed out of place. By the way, did you notice where I live??? What a coincidence. Take care and thanks again.

duane4238 - can you please explain how the re-centre the valve, once it goes off-centre? Mine is tripped. Do I need to remove the entire unit from the car? Do I need to disconnect all of the brake lines?
nice when a necro thread is from somebody who is still here.
and has replied in said necro thread, yet still hasn't posted what the solution to the problem was. like most threads, there's almost never a follow-up.
To re-center the piston in the proportioning valve, all bleeders must be closed, and all leaks have been addressed and repaired.
Then, usually 2-3 quick jabs of the brake pedal will reset the piston because of equal pressure front/ back. Unequal pressure from a leak is what tripped the valve / piston in the first place.
To prevent re-tripping the prop valve, a small tool inserted in place of the warning switch and will hold the piston in place. This tool is for all those that brake bleed using the pedal method. Then swap it back when done and install wire.
The tool can be had for about $15.
