Default 1980 Intake Manifold 1 Piece Rear Seal Block Hood Clearance

I would like to put the HT383 long block from chevy in my 1980. However, I do not want to modify the hood and would like to use the factory air cleaner and air feeds. I have an edelbrock 1406 on the original intake with an adapter from spread to square bore. It just barely makes hood clearance but it makes it. Is there a square bore intake manifold that will fit the vortec heads and still allow for the 1406 and factory air cleaner set up with an unmodified hood? If you know please give manufacture and p/n if available.

FYI I have over 25 years experience with carters and edelbrocks and don't want to shift to a spreadbore.

Thanks so much to this forum for the help you have given me in resurrecting and an abandoned car in a field.

I'm sorry but the Holley Sniper is a raised platform intake manifold and there is no way it fits under a hood with the 80 air cleaner and its two hose feeds.

So your thinking about fuel injection and you want to use the stock air cleaner? Why? The late model c3 engine compartment pretty much look like crap. Unless you have a pace car or silver anniversary car anything you do will be considered an upgrade.

I want to keep the 1406 and have no need nor desire for fuel injection. I'm just looking for an intake manifold which will fit vortec heads with an edelbrock carb and allow the factory air cleaner set up without modifying the hood.
