Default Idler Arm Bolt

My lower idler arm bolt is about 1 1/2" too long , Do I have the wrong bolt ?

look at the head of the bolt to determine which grade bolt is currently in place.
if it is a hardened bolt leave it. sounds original because several times,
I have had to replace that bolt with a shorter version for header clearance.

Hi B71,
The lower idler arm bolt is typically quite long.
Maybe not 1-1/2" too long, but certainly longer than it appears that it needs to be.
???

Burnt! I just looked at my 69 and it looks like a ⅜ X 4 ½ long carriage bolt.

It is supposed to be a carriage bolt, but a grade 8 bolt. Not a Home Depot cheapie.
