I first tried a BorgWarner B26 then tried a B20. The B20 worked best for me. Purchased them from Autozone for around $15 a pc.

So, if I'm pulling 15-16 at idle, I'd be looking for a can that is all-in by 13-14, correct?

Searching around, it looks like the B20 and B26 both pull 8 by 11-13, correct? Was it just trial/error for you? I'm running a stock 1971 LT-1 EXCEPT for a replacement points distributor.

13-14 is correct. I knew I needed either a B20 or 26 so I ordered them both. A stock 427/400hp from what I've read does better with a B20 which is what I stayed with.
I googled a lot of information on my specific configuration and it helped me dial things in correctly. I'm running pertronix on my 67 and a stock TI unit on my 68.
Not sure if it's different for your solid lifter LT1.
