Hello,
I have a 69 sb that has had a persistant problem for 9 months, the odd number cylinders will not fire, even numbers are fine, even went through the engine and no obvious problems drivers manifold dead cold and spits gas out the carb when it runs. Bought this car a year ago barely running and rebuilt engine thinking that was the issue but no obvious internal problems. Plugged exhaust maybe??
hoping someone disconnected with the problem may have a eureka moment for me!
thanks!
todd
re-ringed it, did the valves and bearings and still nothing from the drivers side cylinders. I am an aircraft mechanic so I know what I am doing! Took the exhaust off and it is clear. It is almost like the drivers side lifters are not getting oil or something similar. Oil pressure is good though... really puzzling.
lifter adjustment for hydraulics are you do half when at #1 TDC, exhaust 1,3,4,8, intake 1,2,5,7 and other half when at #6 TDC, exhaust 2,5,6,7, intake 3,4,6,8 is that what you did?
you didnt answer the question about doing a compression test?
do you see oil coming out out of the hole in the rocker arm ?
here is a link on not getting oil to the rockers http://garage.grumpysperformance.com...-rockers.4537/
