Default camber bolt

correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't the camber set by a vertical bolt? in any case, mine won't come out. Damn thing is frozen in place. I'm driving a '79. my tires are in a top, bottom out position. tearing the hell out of tires (inside). How do I get this bolt out, and what is involved.

The bolts holding the upper a-arm cross shaft are used to adjust the camber and caster. Shims are put between the frame bracket and the cross shaft on each bolt to make the adjustments.

Are you talking about the rear camber bolt that adjusts the strut rod under the differential?

Hi j53a,
The bolt assembly is made up of 2 cams… the one at the bolt head is fixed in place but the one at the nut end is loose and can be pried off.
Have you started by doing that?
Regards,
Alan

Should have also posted that camber alone doesn't tear apart tires too fast. Likely the toe is wrong too.

If it is the rear bolt, then you have to loosen the nut first before trying to turn the bolt.
